The Small Ships Are Coming! |
|
|
That’s right, Saturday July 31st the SMALL ships – ok, to clarify - the boats (some of them not so small) will be docked at Barker’s Island Marina for the annual “Woodies On the Water” classic and wooden boat show.
On Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. come enjoy the relaxed, easy atmosphere and take some time to stroll along the docks at Barker’s Island Marina and to check out the beautiful collection of wooden boats of all shapes and sizes.
"Woodies on the Water" is a wooden boat show featuring wooden pulling boats, canoes, kayaks, sailboats and powerboats, both classic and new, all with their own unique style and character. Take a moment or two and chat with the proud collectors and boat builders, each as interesting, unique and perhaps with as much character as the boats themselves. Many are happy to share photos showing the process of building or restoring their pride and joy or telling their stories and history.
The event is free and open to the public. Everyone is invited to vote for their favorites - "Best of" in four different classes and "Best in Show". With the sleek, smooth lines, detailed handiwork and the extraordinary glow of kiln dried wood- polished to a fine sheen, deciding on your favorites just might be the toughest part of your day. Come experience for yourself unique beauty of these boats from bow to stern.
